Popis: This work addresses the use of a MO optimization algorithm to deal with the reliability optimization problem in order to determine the redundancy and reliability of each component in the system. Often, these problems are formulated as a single-objective problem with mixed variables (real-integer) and is subject to various design constraints. Classical solution approaches were limited to deal with these problems and most recent solution approaches are based on nature-inspired optimization algorithms which belong to artificial intelligence (AI). In the present paper, the problem is solved as a MO optimization problem through the Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm II (NSGA-II) to generate the set of optimal solutions, also called Pareto. The latter helps the decision-maker. The case studied consists of a pharmaceutical plant.
