Popis:	SYNOPSIS There have been many trials to obtain empirical equations for estimating monthly global solar radiation. This paper modifies the model suggested by Barbaro et al. [10] so that it can be applied to six countries in the Arabian Gulf having a hot climate. The relationship obtained by the present work is: and the average deviation does not exceed 8%. Individual models are produced for each country separately to increase the accuracy. These are presented as equations 6 to 11 inclusive. The zone parameters for the overall and the individual models are shown in Table 1.
