Lasers have been versatile tools to investigate physical phenomena and they have paved the way for exploring novel physics. Recently, scientists have become excited about the advent of the ultra-intense laser with extreme output power. The output power of the ultra-intense laser will soon reach multi-10 PW and thus, it can provide opportunities to explore novel physics such as photon-photon interaction and vacuum behavior in the strong laser field. Currently, a large ultra-intense laser facility has been pursued in Korea. Here, the current status, applications, and prospects of the ultra-intense laser facility are introduced. |
