Popis: The preparation of physically stable dispersions of sulfonate additives ensures good quality of additives and high service characteristics of motor oils modified with them [i, 2]. However, the conditions for formation of a favorable colloidal structure of dispersions of alkaline calcium sulfonates and factors causing disturbance of its stability have been determined insufficiently. The coagulation of dispersions of sulfonate additives stabilized as a result of the formation of developed adsorption-solvate layers surrounding particles of a colloidally disperse phase [3, 4] is due to the effect of desolvating agents, namely, low-molcular-weight alcohols and ketones [5].
