Popis: The present research project investigates the effects of emotions (i.e. hope, fear and guilt) in climate communication on individual climate engagement behavior, which we operationalize as donation behavior and information seeking behavior. Furthermore, we aim to analyze climate protection on different spatial levels (i.e. spatially near vs. far). With this research project, we address three core research questions: (1) How do the emotions fear, guilt and hope induced in climate change communication affect climate engagement? (2) What is the ideal sequence of negative and positive emotion-inducing information about the climate crisis to promote climate engagement? (3) How do emotions influence donation level for projects that are spatially near or far away?
