Popis: Acromioclavicular joint separations are common injuries that usually occur after a fall onto the shoulder. Classification of these injuries is based on the degree and direction of the separation. The Rockwood classification is the most commonly used classification. Treatment often depends on the classification but is individualized to each patient according to their symptoms and function. Nonoperative treatment includes a sling for comfort and early range of motion. Operative treatment consists of a variety of options to stabilize the joint that allows return of function.
