A gas trigatron for chopping very high-voltage 50 Hz frequency waveforms, and its application to liquid breakdown measurements

Popis:	The trigatron described is a four-stage device, suitable for chopping a 50 Hz alternating voltage in the range from 50-400 kv r.m.s. within a few microseconds. The problems encountered with a.c. trigatrons are outlined, and the important operational characteristics are presented. The application of the device for discharge suppression in electric strength measurements is indicated.
