Development of fast neutron detector for multielement personal neutron track dosemeter

Popis: A multielement personal neutron track dosemeter (MPNTD) is proposed. It should consist of four elements, two of them for estimate thermal and intermediate neutron exposure, further two for fast energy neutron region. Low energy neutron detection will be assured with KODAK CN85 track detector in contact with Li2B407 radiator. For fast neutron detection, several possibilities were studied, two KODAK cellulose nitrates as well as CR39 manufactured by American Acrylics. Studies were concentrated mainly to optimalize electrochemical etching conditions. It was found out that KODAK CN85 track detectors exhibit characteristics which are encouraging from the point of view of its using as fast neutron detector in MPNTD. Results obtained are analyzed and discussed.
