| Popis: | This resource is a technical report summarizing an archaeological resources survey of Bainbridge Naval Training Center. The approximately 1200 acres of the Bainbridge Naval Training Center in Cecil County, Maryland was surveyed for the presence of significant cultural resources. Research goals consisted of testing currently existing models of regional upland-area land use for prehistoric resources, and testing for the presence of cultural deposits in areas identified through historic document research for prehistoric resources. Four archeological sites were identified; three historic period sites (18CE156, 18CE157 and 18CE158), and one prehistoric period site (18CE159). Only 18CE158, a 19th century Free Black community, was determined to be eligible for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places. Artifacts and associated records from the project are curated at the Maryland Archaeological Conservation Laboratory on behalf of the Navy. |
