Popis:	In many cases of malignant disease an effusion is produced by some indirect mechanism, for instance a peritoneal transudate due to venous obstruction in the porta hepatis, or an inflammatory pleural effusion due to a collapsed lobe of the lung in bronchial carcinoma. It is therefore not to be expected that all effusions in cases of cancer will contain malignant cells211.
