Popis: P054 RESISTIVITY SIGNATURE OF HYDROCARBON DEPOSITS – MT SURVEYS IN WESTERN UZBEKISTAN Summary 1 Electroprospecting has been used successfully in hydrocarbon exploration in the Former Soviet Union (FSU) since the early 1950s. Electroprospecting revealed geological structure areas with improved collector properties and hydrocarbon indicators: higher overall resistivity in strata above hydrocarbon deposits and a specific type of induced polarization (IP) anomaly [4]. Such data (obtained in Uzbekistan with old types of electroprospecting equipment) were confirmed in early 2002 by MT surveys with modern equipment in the international project “Paleorift”. The project included MT surveys over 6 known Mesozoic hydrocarbon deposits
