Popis: A reliable power network in a liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant is vital in ensuring continuous production of LNG without interruption. Operating an LNG plant with an unreliable power network could lead to a substantial production opportunity loss if there are any outages. To ensure a reliable power network, all major electrical equipment such as the transformers have to be in pristine condition. This paper presents the actual site acceptance test results and commissioning activities performed for a 16MVA, 33/6.6kV oil-filled power transformer including testing of integrated equipment such as switchgear, protection relays and power cables. This paper will serve as a guide for a safe testing and commissioning activity for an oil-filled power transformer from an end user perspective.
