Comparison of Applicability of Different Computational Geometry Algorithms for the Detection of Vertices in River Layers in GIS Systems

Popis: The identification of potential areas in rivers is an area of cartography that until very recently has been carried out manually, although recently methods have been generated to automate it following the concepts and techniques traditionally used for this task. The present investigation will focus on the detection of vertices of drainage lines and river basins, that is, of the rivers of an area and the area of the land that drains water on the detected rivers. Alternatives based on concepts of computational geometry that are more innovative in this area will be offered and in this way, and using the metric of evaluation of execution time and computational cost, the selected algorithms will be compared and the most efficient will be selected according to the results obtained in said evaluation for later use in future research.
