Popis: The noise generated by fans, including automotive cooling fan, can be classified as aerodynamic and non-aerodynamic. For that condition, we need a new approach to reduce the noise level generated by the fan. The objective of this research is to investigate the effect of dampening application on fan insertion loss and airflow rate of automotive cooling fan. A type of damper with specified variation of the angular and radius is used. Data was measured using sound level meter with the observing point were from 0° to 180°. Airflow velocity is carried out at 2 places, i.e.at the inlet variation of duct, and at the radiator anemometer.
