Time-Resolved Measurement of Electron Density in Atmospheric Kr–F2–He Discharge by the Streak Interferometric Method

Popis: Using the streak interferometric method, we have made time-resolved electron density measurements on Kr–F2–He mixtures excited by a short pulsed electric discharge in the pressure range appropriate for rare-gas-halides lasers. The observed rise and decay are found to be determined mainly by ionization of Kr atoms and electron attachment by F2 molecules, respectively. The rate for the latter process is obtained from a comparison of the experiment with the simulation calculation.
