Popis: | Graphene oxide (GO) has attracted increasing research attention as a reinforcing material in cement-based materials. In this work, the influences of GO on the hydration and microstructure characteristics of tricalcium silicate (C3S) were investigated by hydration heat studies, X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis and field emission scanning electron microscopy. It was found that C3S hydration was accelerated by the incorporation of GO and that GO may have a catalytic effect on the C3S hydration process at early age. Moreover, the addition of GO can enhance the formation of nuclei and the growth of calcium hydroxide crystals at an early age and can also provide a template for calcium silicate hydrate gel, which thus changes the morphology of the hydration products. |
