Popis: | Worldwide environmental consciousness begins in 1970 with the first “Earth Day”. Environmental education has been used to increase this type of awareness, although other extra-curricular routes have also been proposed. The general objective of this article is to compare environmental consciousness in two school training compulsory levels (primary education and secondary education), in the town of Elche (Spain), making use of a School Ecobarometer analysing four dimensions: affective, cognitive, conative and active. We conclude that primary education students have higher environmental consciousness than secondary students, and therefore support the suggestions of authors who see an intervention in extra-curricular environments as necessary to improve environmental consciousness. |
