The effect of evaporation and condensation in vapor bubbles on the hydrodynamic sound generation in a subcooled boiling liquid

Popis: | On the basis of energy considerations, relations for the growth and degradation of a vapor bubble in a boiling liquid are obtained. These relations give a closer description of experimental data than that obtained with relations derived earlier. Using the newly derived relationships and the Rayleigh equation, a formula describing the hydrodynamic sound generation in a subcooled boiling liquid is obtained. The validity of this formula is verified by the results of direct experiments, which consist in simultaneously measuring the variation of the vapor bubble radius and the sound pressure generated by the bubble. |
