Popis: In this study the colonization pattern was investigated of a mouse-related (Colonization Resistance-) microflora (CRF-MF) and an unrelated human microflora (HUM-MF) in germfree isolated C3H/Rij mice. The composition of the HUM-MF appeared to change whereas the CRF-MF did not. HUM-MF associated animals also mounted a higher serum antibody level against 50–40% of the high concentrated obligate anaerobic bacteria, whereas this fraction was less than 10% in CRF-MF mice. We conclude that the colonization of the gut is determined immunologically by the antigenic composition of the microflora for which tolerance appears to exist.
