E-learning: An effective tool for open and distant learning

Popis:	Higher education in India is facing numerous challenges. Lack of faculties, overcrowded or vacant class rooms, deteriorating standards, poor infrastructure facilities and several imbalances are among them. Specially, ensuring quality education for learners coming from poor, rural and remote location families is a major challenge. The time now is to think beyond boundaries and welcome the new way of learning called e-learning. The role of e-learning in education is becoming more and more important and this importance will continue to grow and develop. This paper highlights the various aspects of e-learning and explore how this will impact on the way programs will be offered and delivered in the universities and colleges of the future.
