This paper shows the development of a new multiple-array antenna, working on the 1.7 GHz band. The main purpose of the project is to establish communications between a satellite constellation and the terrestrial station. It consists of some triangular phased arrays of double circular patches, controlled by an electronic subsystem in order to obtain the desired main beam. Each patch has individual phase control and an adaptive algorithm will be developed. The structure of the antenna is a trunk of a hexagonal pyramid, whose faces are covered by the triangular arrays and the electronic subsystem is located under them. With this configuration, a semi spherical coverage should be obtained in order to follow the signal from several satellites. In this document, the active single element of the array, its phase control network and its measurements are shown and compared to previous simulations. (5 pages) |
