A 26-year-old man suffered massive surgical resection of the intestine and then was left with only 34 cm of postduodenal small bowel. Ten years later, he maintains at home a good nutritionnal status with oral and enteral feeding, and only a weekly lipid parenteral support. This case report illustrates that intestinal adaptation needs a longer time than usually admitted. |
