The effective allocation of online medical resources plays a key role in the popularization and application of online healthcare. However, the existing research has not yet comprehensively and deeply analyzed the online medical resource allocation mechanism. Using data from an online medical platform and regional statistical data, this study to analyze the utilization pattern of online medical resources and identify the influencing factors. It is found that most patients tend to choose doctors from areas with high-quality resource and that the high-quality health resources in some provinces have not been effectively utilized. In addition, doctors from provinces with higher level of economic development, more high-quality health resources and more total number of patients who checked in after consultation are more likely to attract patients on the online health platform. Moreover, when patients chose online consultation, they paid much attention to the technical level of doctors and the number of patients who report after consultation on the platform. The theoretical and practical implications of this study are discussed based on the findings. |
