Popis: A method for producing optical quartz glass by synthesizing monodisperse silica particles and centrifuging the particles followed supercritical drying and sintering of porous material is described. The optical transmission spectrum of the optical quartz glass produced by this method is compared with the spectra of several glasses obtained by commercial methods. The advantages of this method over methods based on silicon dioxide aerogels and xerogels for producing quartz glass are indicated.
