Popis: | Four samples of YBCO doped with cobalt have been characterised using several techniques, including measurements of Tc, AC susceptibility, resistivity, magnetic susceptibility, and yttrium nuclear magnetic resonance (nmr). The last two techniques were applied over a temperature range of 200 K to 300 K, with the aim of elucidating the local or non-local character of the magnetic changes produced by the doping process. These changes occur almost exclusively on the CuI sites, and the appearance of a Curie term in the susceptibility is not due to the conventional cause of such a term i.e. a local moment. |
