Popis:	This research discusses a manufacturing support system for small and medium-sized enterprises. This paper describes a concept of remote monitoring and management system as one component of the manufacturing support system. The remote monitoring and management system can support single-night unmanned nighttime operations of diversified manufacturing commonly found in Japanese small and medium-sized enterprises. Results of a development and test operation of a prototype system of the remote monitoring system which consists of remote monitoring system using cell phones, 3-D LIVE (Layered Information Viewing Environment) and a load balancing system based on the remote monitoring are also discussed in the paper.
