A Novel flux-switching transverse-flux permanent magnet tube linear motor is investigated in this paper, both permanent magnet and armature winding of the motor are fixed on the one side, the other side merely contains core. The motor is convenient for manufacturing and suitable for low-speed large torque direct-drive applications. Firstly, the basic structure and working principle of the motor are introduced in detail. Secondly, the expression of electromagnetic force is deduced by a basic magnetic circuit model. Then, the basic characteristic of the novel motor is analyzed by finite element method (FEM), such as back electromagnetic force (back EMF) and cogging torque. At last, the influence of structure parameters on the magnetic field distribution and cogging force is investigated, which provides a useful foundation for optimum design of the novel transverse flux motor. |
