Popis: | Conjoined twins are identical twins who develop with a single placenta from a single fertilized ovum. The developing embryo begins to split after the 13th day of conception but stops part way, leaving the partially separated ovum to mature into a conjoined fetus. Conjoined twins may be joined at a variety of anatomic sites. |
