Popis: CuCl and Cu are active phases for CH3Cl cracking, a side reaction of the methylchlorosilanes direct synthesis. In the presence of black carbon simulating coke, CuCl is reduced leading to Cu, inactive for the direct synthesis, and chlorinated coke.
