Crenitis punctatostriata (Letzner, 1840), not Cymbiodyta marginella (Fabricius, 1792) in peat bogs in the Karkonosze and Izera Mountains. According to older literature data, Cymbiodyta marginella (Fabricius, 1792) was recorded in peat bogs in the Karkonosze and Izera Mountains (SW Poland). The authors of the present article show that information to be incorrect. In very similar localities, they caught large numbers of Crenitis punctatostriata (Letzner, 1840). Since the ecological requirements of the former species are well known, doubt was cast on its occurrence in those fairly high-mountain localities. Examination of all the available voucher (museum) specimens of C. marginella showed them to be in fact the same species as the one caught by the authors, i.e. C. punctatostriata. The authors were thus able to correct the identity of the earlier specimens, and added their own, contemporary records. |
