| Popis: | Background : Child independence is one of stages of growth and development in children. The use of gadgets can cause children to be more passive because they are more focused on gadgets. This study is intended to investigate the relationship between the use of gadgets and the independence of pre-school children. Method : The study was designed using Cross-sectional approach. This study was conducted in Al-Fitroh Surabaya Kindergarten and Budi Mulya Surabaya Kindergarten samples with 104 respondents selected by cluster sampling technique. The research instrument was questionnaires assessment regarding both the use of gadgets and questionnaires independence pre-school children of which its validity and reliability test had been undertaken. Result : The results of this study demonstrate the use of the gadgets were mostly of the medium category, the independence of preschool children, mostly in the medium category, and there is a relationship between the use of gadgets to the independence of preschool children.
