Popis: | The elastic moduli of porous copper in the cold pressed and in the sintered states were studied using the ultrasonic method. At equal density level, the elastic moduli of the sintered material are higher than those of cold compacted samples. A sharp increase of the elastic moduli associated with only a minute increase of density is observed at the early stage of sintering and correlates with interparticle neck formation. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) examination revealed the presence of nanoparticles in the neck-like interparticle region at the early stage of sintering. |
