Popis:	This paper describes an effective technique of crude oil desalting which is recirculation of water within the electrodehydrator by means of built-in jet mixers. Vertical electrodehydrators with built-in jet mixers have been tested and approved at the Novo-Ufa refinery. Design and operation of the vessel is described. Results from analyses of the oil during the test period are summarized. Retrofitting of electrodehydrators with built-in jet mixers proved increased capacity and the consumption of water and electric power in desalting was cut in half while oil loss in the electric desalting units was reduced substantially.
