Popis: Anthropometric sizing system research aims to establish a standard size chart and system that can be applied to the pattern design methodology to be used in the construction of garments for children and adults. This chapter aims to show the whole flow chart of how the research of an anthropometric data is conducted to develop the size system. The research was conducted to collect anthropometric data for analysis towards the process of developing sizing system. By conducting this research the clothes’ sizes developed based on the master block using the right system should be adequate to their anthropometrics and their key dimensions, in accordance with important functional factors for the dependency of developing sizing system variables. The chapter begins by discussing the importance of establishing key dimensions for sizing system and clothing design. It then reviews the identification of primary and secondary dimensions for the development of sizing system before describing techniques to select key dimensions. Next, this chapter demonstrates two distinct techniques to identify the key dimensions using the multivariate analysis method (principal component analysis—PCA). The last two chapters showed how the cluster analysis is conducted to group the sample into proper sizes and how to develop good sizing system that can benefit the industrial people. In conclusion, there is a section discussing the future trends, and sources of information are provided.
