HSV-2 induced Cerebellitis; A reactivatation of HSV-2 by SARS Covid -2 infection, A case Presentation

Popis: Background: Herpes simplex virus type-2 could hardly lead to encephalitis in human-being. Some DNA viruses could be reactivated by COVID-19 infection such as HSV-1 and HSV-2 viruses. An uncommon presentation of HSV-2 was detected as cerebellitis in this patient. It could be concluded that SARS COVID-2 can reactivate DNA viruses such as HSV-2. Case Presentation: Here we report a one-year-old girl infant with cerebellum involvement secondary to herpes simplex virus type 2 infection. Conclusion: The patient was treated for three weeks with intravenous acyclovir and oral prednisolone. Finally, during her neurological follow-ups in a 9 months period of time, she was able to walk with minimal ataxia.
