From a prospective study of male patients in rehabilitation after myocardial infarction, 57 persons from the Upper Bavarian Myocardial Infarction Study who underwent coronary arteriography and aortocoronary bypass graft surgery are analyzed, comparing those patients who returned to work after their infarction and were still working according to our last information with those patients who stopped working during observation. Further comparison was made between the men alive at the time of the last observation and the late postoperative deaths. The participants in the study went to rehabilitation to the Klinik Hohenried after their myocardial infarction and were examined twice a year until death or drop-out. |
