The results of magnetotelluric (MT) explorations, applied to study the geoelectric structure of the sedimentary cover and the Earth’s crust along regional profiles, are presented. More than 2000 MT soundings were fulfilled within the last few years using modern technologies of data acquisition, processing, analysis and interpretation. The profiles considered are situated in various tectonic provinces: Russian plate and zones of its conjunction with Baltic shield and Skythian plate, North-Caucasian marginal depression, folded regions of Northern Caucasus, Southern Urals and North-East of Russia. New information about the deep (until tens of kilometers) structure of these areas was obtained. |
