Oreobolopsis inversa, a new species of Cyperaceae from the Andes occurring in Ecuador and Peru, is fully described and illustrated. It differs from Oreobolopsis tepalifera Koyama & Guaglianone by its stiff erect leaves and tepals shorter than the achene. The habit of the new species is very similar to Trichophorum rigidum (Steudel) Goetghebeur, Muasya & Simpson, but there are some remarkable differences in floral morphology between the two. In addition, the combination Oreobolopsis clementis (M. E. Jones) Dhooge & Goetghebeur is made. |
