Popis: | The deployment of navigation systems for use in lunar missions is considered, developing an approach proposed earlier. The use of radio navigation systems operating on a query model of data transmission in a network of stations is discussed. The stations in the network are assumed be close to potential lunar landing sites and a lunar base under construction. Optimal beacon placement is analyzed in detail, so as to ensure maximum coverage with a minimum of beacons. The corresponding algorithm and results are presented for the example of a specific lunar sector: the neighborhood of the south pole. |
