Popis: Electron microscopy and small angle polarized light Scattering were used to study the supermolecular structure of polycetyl acrylate (PA-16) gels in n-octanol. The gel formation was found to be accompanied by crystallization of PA-16 and the formation of monocrystals several microns in size; these were in direct contact with each other, but also formed a steric network of gel due to chains interconnecting the crystals. The latter resulted in the stoppage of flow.
