Spectroscopic behavior of K3[Cr(NCS)6] complexes entrapped in silica glasses obtained by the sol-gel method

Popis:	K 3 [Cr(NCS) 6 ] complex samples entrapped in silica glass were prepared by the sol-gel technique. It has been noticed that the original color of the complex changed gradually from violet to green upon entrapment. This process occurred within several days. Electronic absorption and emission spectra obtained during this process, along with the several chemical experiments performed, indicate that the sol-gel matrix induces an exchange of the NCS − ligand with ammonia.
