Popis:	The analysis of experimental results relating to the swelling and shrinkage of irradiated polyamide fibres in phenol solutions, along with the results of direct structural investigations show that irradiation is accompanied by breakdown of the crystalline component of the fibres, as well as by reduced orientation of the macromolecular chains and by the formation of crosslinked polymeric structures.
