Popis: The interaction-point emulsion target detector forming part of the “SCAP” (Streamer Chamber And Photoemulsion) hybrid magnetic spectrometer for studying charmed-baryon production in neutrino interactions is described. The target is composed of 24 piles of BR-2 nuclear emulsion with a total volume of 20 litres and has been exposed for 1 yr. The design of the target permits the parallel and perpendicular arrangements of emulsion layers with respect to the neutrino beam. The design of the spectrometer, the target design, the methods for relating the target in coordinates to the target-indicating unit of the spectrometer, etc. are presented.
