Popis: Patients with acute and chronic eczema, Lichen simplex chronicus, psoriasis vulgaris and palmo-plantal pustulosis were treated with occlusive dreesing method with plastic films (ex. Saran Wrap) and steroid ointment (in emulsion). All treated cases were exceedingly improved. In this way we recognized that the use of occlusive dressing method increased the therapeutic effectiveness of steroid ointment. In this therapy, Flucortcream (0.025 % fluocinolone acetonide cream) appeared to be more beneficial than the other steroid ointments (0.05 % dexamethasone ointment and 0.25 % hydrocortisone ointment) when used for psoriasis, but for the eczematous cases the effectiveness of all steroid ointments were roughly equivalent. In the cases of psoriasis the relapse was controled with Goeckerman therapy after cessation of the occlusive dressing method. In the eczematous cases retreatment with the occlusive dressing therapy resulted in absolute healing. In a few cases we have seen the undesinable effects such as folliculitis, contact dermatitis-like eruptions and adhesive tape dermatitis. The contact dermatitis-like eruptions, which are caused by application of plastic films, are eythema, papules, vesicules and urticoeythema. This urticoerythematous eruption needed about 1 month for healing.
