Analytical investigation on the contents of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in airborne particulate matter from two bavarian cities

Popis:	Airborne particulate matter was collected continuously for 1 year at 3 sites in Munich and Nuremberg. It was analysed for 16 PAH compounds by means of capillary gas chromatography on a monthly basis. The annual mean PAH concentrations (BaP 2.11 - 3.47 ng/m3) are comparable to those of other cities. They are determined by low summer and high winter levels. PAH profile analysis indicates that road traffic at Munich, domestic heating and industrial emissions at Nuremberg represent the predominant site specific PAH sources.
