Popis: | The solar corona on July 11, 1991 had a shape unusual in terms of standard picture for the time near the sunspot maximum. One can say that the canonical scheme of cyclic evolution of coronal form did not work. Instead we have a direct observational evidence for identity of coronal streamer belt with the heliospheric current sheet. At the same time the corona of 1991 confirms our concept of the ‘flat solar corona’, which looks approximately like a galaxy. During the eclipse of 1991 the ‘galaxy-like’ corona was turned edgewise towards the Earth. More cases of similar coronal configuration are listed for 1978 through 1988. |
