This chapter identifies REBT’s position in modern psychotherapy. It identifies the characteristics that REBT shares with most other psychotherapies, such as the common factors model, psychodynamic therapies, and client-centered therapy. It explores the ideas, strategies, and techniques REBT shares with other treatments within the CBT psychotherapy tradition. It identifies REBT characteristics that have been adopted by other forms of CBT, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Finally, the unique features of REBT are identified. |
