Popis: Localized or, more often, generalized enlargement of lymph nodes is a possible, yet uncommon, occurrence in chronic myelomonocytic leukemia. It seems to be more frequent in children [5, 14, 17] than in adults. However the interpretation of lymph node biopsies in such cases may be confusing and may even lead to misdiagnosis [18]. For this reason we decided with the Rennes (J. Goasguen), Nantes (R. Garand), Angers (J. L. Bremond), and Tours (J. Gardais) units of the Groupe Francaise de Morphologie Hematologique to examine cases of myelodysplastic syndromes, concentrating on the cases of chronic myelomonocytic leukemia which were reported as being associated with lymphadenopathy. In cases in which a biopsy had been performed we reviewed the slides of these.
