Sigara striata (Linnaeus) Eurytopic, found in most standing, slow moving and floodplain water bodies, but avoids heavily polluted waters; zoophytophage (consumes a variety of plants and animals, including mosquito larvae); multivoltine; overwinters as imago, primarily in reservoirs). Good flier, attracted to lights (Kerzhner and Yachevsky 1964). West Eurasian.
