Popis: | Summary The crystal structure and the magnetic properties of the LaFe 1−x Cr x O 3 compounds with 0 ≤ x ≤ 1 have been studied. X-ray analysis indicated that the compounds crystallize in the perovskite structure with an orthorhombic deformation. Magnetization measurements revealed frustration phenomena and spin-cluster structures. These properties which result from the presence of short-range spin correlation, are closely dependent on the chromium concentration. An unusual increase of the coercive field with increasing temperature is observed and interpreted by a phenomenological model based on the existence of a distribution of weak ferromagnetic components randomly canted in the lattice. |
